Rebecca Barnett—Youth & Teens
Rebecca, a lifelong vegetarian, is in her sophomore year of high school in Rochester, New York. She is a regular contributor to VegNews and provides a teenager’s perspective to the paper.

Ken Bergeron—Food
Chef Ken Bergeron is a renowned culinary expert and the author of Professional Vegetarian Cooking. His entry at the 1992 Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt, Germany was the first vegetarian presentation to win a gold medal.

Robert Cohen—Milk & Dairy
Robert, also known as the "Not Milk Man," is the founder and executive director of the Dairy Education Board, which works to dispel the myth that milk is a perfect food. He is the author of Milk:The Deadly Poison and Milk: A - Z.

Brenda Davis, R.D. & Vesanto Melina, R.D.—Nutrition
Brenda is the Chair of the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association. She is the co-author of Becoming Vegan: Complete Guide to Adopting a Healthy Plant-Based Diet, Becoming Vegetarian, and Becoming Vegan. Vesanto is a registered dietician and was the coordinator for the vegetarian section of the Manual of Clinical Dietetics. She is the co-author of three best-selling books, Becoming Vegetarian, Becoming Vegan, and Cooking Vegetarian.

Karen Davis, Ph.D.—Poultry
Karen is the founder and president of United Poultry Concerns, which promotes the compassionate and respectful treatment of domestic fowl. She is the author of numerous books including Prisoned Chickens, Poisoned Eggs: An Inside Look at the Modern Poultry Industry and More Than a Meal: The Turkey in History, Myth, Ritual, and Reality.

Derek Goodwin—Internet & Technology
Derek is a professional photographer, web designer and graphic artist. His website, Veganica.com, is dedicated to furthering veganism, animal rights and environmental activism through art.

Ruth Heidrich, PhD—Health & Fitness
Ruth is a world-renowned triathlete and holds the world fitness record in her age group at the Cooper Clinic. She is the author of A Race for Life: From Cancer to Ironman.

Jennie Kerwood—Media & Communications
Jennie is the president of the North American Vegetarian Society and the editor of their member publication, Vegetarian Voice. She is on the volunteer committee who help organize the successful NAVS-sponsored Vegetarian Summerfest conference each year.

Michael Klaper, M.D.—Medical
Michael is an internationally recognized physician and lecturer and is the founder of the Institute of Nutrition Education and Research in Manhattan Beach, California. An author of two books on nutrition, he serves on the Nutrition Task Force of the American Medical Students Association and on the faculty of the American Academy of Nutrition.

Howard Lyman—Food Production
Howard, a former cattle rancher turned vegan activist, was the co-defendent with Oprah Winfrey against the US Cattleman’s Association in the late 1990s. He is the author of Mad Cowboy: Plain Truth from the Cattle Rancher Who Won’t Eat Meat and the executive director of Voice for a Viable Future.

Erik Marcus—Vegan Research
Erik, author of Vegan: The New Ethics of Eating, has devoted his life to researching and writing about vegan issues and animal rights. He is the founder of Vegan.com and has spoken to audiences in over 100 cities.

Jim Mason—Animal Rights Movement
Once an attorney specializing in human and animal concerns, Jim is a long-time environmentalist, journalist and lecturer. He is the author of An Unnatural Order: Why We Are Destroying the Planet and Each Other and is the director of the Two Mauds Foundation.

Bryan Pease—Activism
Bryan is an attorney in San Diego focusing on animal and environmental protection, free speech, and government and corporate accountability ( www.bryanpease.com).  He co-founded the Animal Protection and Rescue League ( www.APRL.org), which works to document, expose and ban cruel factory farming practices.  Bryan has been a vegan since 1994 at age 16, and as an undergraduate at Cornell University, he studied nutrition under T. Colin Campbell, author of the China Study.

Rae Sikora & Zoe Weil, M.S.—Humane Education
Rae, an anthropologist and environmental educator, is the founder of Simply Enough, an organization that assists people in bringing more peace into their lives and the world. She is the co-founder of the International Institute for Humane Education and Center for Compassionate Living.

Zoe Weil is the co-founder and president of the International Institute for Humane Education which trains people to be comprehensive humane educators and promotes humane education worldwide.  She developed the first certificate and Master of Education degree programs in humane education in the US.  She is the author of The Power and Promise of Humane Education, Above All, Be Kind: Raising a Humane Child in Challenging Times, and So, You Love Animals: An Action-Packed, Fun-Filled Book to Help Kids Help Animals
