California-based shoe brand T.U.K. Footwear launched a new vegan shoe line for its fall 2017 collection. The seven-style line is made with an improved vegan material called TUKskin that is softer than the company’s previous cruelty-free offerings. “We have heard the voice of our customers for many years and done our best to provide vegan alternatives to traditional shoemaking materials,” T.U.K founder Ian White said. “With the development and adoption of TUKskin, we are very happy to now be able to achieve that goal, and our plan for 2018 is to vastly increase that offering.” The new shoe line features the company’s signature “creeper” in pointed and round-toe styles, along with boots, sneakers, and Mary-Janes that will be available to the public this month. Major shoe brands—including Converse and Reebok—are moving away from animal-based materials in favor of new, plant-based fibers.
