Frozen dessert brand My/Mo Mochi announced last week the launch of its first vegan mochi line across its 6,000 points of distribution. The new Cashew Cream Frozen Dessert line includes four flavors (Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, and Salted Caramel) of mochi made with a cashew-based ice cream that is wrapped in rice flour dough. “The need for plant-based food has grown immensely in the last few years,” CEO Craig Berger said. “Our fans are continually requesting that we add vegan options to our line of mochi ice cream snacks, as many consumers look to limit their dairy intake. We’re thrilled to answer the call with these tasty offerings to satisfy their snack cravings.” This year, a number of ice cream brands have added vegan options to their product lines, including Ben & Jerry’s, Breyers, Halo Top, and Häagen-Dazs.
