New plant-based Facebook show Home Sweat Home debuted this month. Co-hosted by plant-based dietitian/VegNews health columnist Julieanna Hever and fitness trainer Joey Thurman, each weekly episode spotlights a different family that hopes to improve their lives through health and fitness. Hever and Thurman coach each family for two days, providing plant-based eating advice and fitness tips. “We teach our participants why eating plants is best on a budget, ideal for optimal health, and offers the most nutritional bang for their caloric buck,” Hever told VegNews. “We are hoping to inspire people to integrate more delicious, nutritious plants into their diets.” Home Sweat Home’s debut episode focuses on Gerald and Christine, parents of two small children, who learn how to make a superfood fruit salad for a healthy, plant-based snack option. Upcoming documentary The Yoyo Effect also encourages plant-based living by exposing the misinformation spread by weight loss, food, and medical industries.
