Vegan comfort food eatery Doomie’s Home Cookin’ will open its second Los Angeles-area location in April. The restaurant will take over the space of Ramen Roll in Culver City, a location that has seen many restaurants shutter in recent years. Media outlet Eater poses that Doomie’s might have staying power due to its unique offering, stating, “But with a lack of expansive vegan comfort food in and around Culver City, it’s possible that Doomie’s will be able to make a dent where others have not.” While the full menu is not finalized, Doomie’s expects to serve popular dishes from its Hollywood outpost, including its Vegan Mac Daddy (a plant-based version of McDonald’s Big Mac) and an increased number of grab-and-go options. In 2016, Doomie’s opened its second location in Toronto, Canada—where its burgers and “vegan selfie room” drew hour-long crowds.
