Detroit-based beer hall Ale Mary’s recently expanded its offerings to include a fully vegan comfort food menu. Along with a rotating vegan beer and wine list, the eatery serves a variety of vegan cocktails featuring bee-free “honee.” Proprietor Nick Ritts added a variety of vegan selections to his second restaurant to cater to a wider customer base. The food menu includes appetizers such as Vegan Brussels Sprouts, Fried McClure’s Pickles, and Buffalo Cauliflower; vegan burgers including the Impossible Burger and Beyond Burger served on gluten-free vegan buns; and entrées such as Tuscan Penne Pasta, Impossible Vegan Chorizo Tacos, and the Mediterranean Vegan Bowl. For dessert, guests can order Chocolate Raspberry Cashew Cheez-Cake and Sweet Potato Caramel Brownies topped with vegan whipped cream. Due to continued interest, Ale Mary’s plans to add more vegan options to its popular weekend brunch menu. Similarly, vegan beer hall Rewild will open in Boston this June to fulfill an increase in demand for more plant-based options for vegan beer lovers.
