Tippi Hedren Wins Award

Actress honored for animal-rights activism.

Social networking website BraveHeart Women has awarded Tippi Hedren a 2010 BraveHeart Award for Hedren’s work in animal advocacy. The award is given to individuals who are “inspiring trailblazers who have transcended above the preconceived ideas of empowered individuals.” Hedren, a vegetarian, founded Roar Foundation, which funds the Shambala Preserve in California, a sanctuary for lions, tigers, and other large cats. The BraveHeart Awards were started in 2009, and Hedren is one of seven recipients this year.
