Makeup line Biao Skincare has joined the Humane Society of the United States’ Be Cruelty-Free campaign to end cosmetics animal-testing. Biao (Beautiful Inside and Out) was started by military veteran Nicole Baldwin, who became a licensed esthetician after returning from her tenure in Iraq where she was subjected to sun, dust, and stress that damaged her skin. Launched in 2010, the Houston-based Biao not only abstains from testing on animals, but also has eco-friendly packaging, is made from 100 percent recyclable post-consumer materials, and is embedded with wildflower seeds so customers can plant it in the ground.
