The San Francisco 49ers’ Levi Stadium is making vegan dining an easy endeavor for cruelty-free football fans. The Bay Area home field will serve 14 vegan and 26 vegetarian menu items, with at least one plant-based dish at each of its concession stands. Offerings will include a navy bean curry, a Portobello bao bun, and a BBQ Jackfruit sandwich. Each vegan menu item is an original recipe, created by the stadium’s food service provider Centerplate as a way to cater to San Francisco’s penchant for diverse and delicious food. “[Our intent was to] design a hospitality program to usher in a new era of fan experience, and to match the Bay Area’s diverse culture,” said Centerplate’s President and CEO Des Hague earlier this week. Also, a majority of the food served at Levi Stadium will be made in-house with 80 percent of its offerings prepared from ingredients sourced in California
