Yahoo Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary of Babycakes NYC

Gillie Houston, associate editor of Yahoo Food, recently penned a detailed feature about New York City’s all-vegan Babycakes Bakery—now McKenna Bakery—in commemoration of its 10-year anniversary. Erin McKenna opened the retro-themed bakery in 2005 and created allergen-free baked goods that would be suitable for everyone. Houston pointed out bakery milestones such as being named the “Best Cupcake in New York” by New York Magazine and owner Erin McKenna’s appearance on Martha Stewart’s show, Martha. Houston gushed over the bakery’s current menu, which includes “everything from pillowy cinnamon rolls, to fruity crumb cakes, to their rotating selection of unique donuts.” After 10 years of positive growth and mainstream media attention, the bakery continues to extend its reach with locations in Los Angeles, and Orlando, FL, along with nationwide delivery.
