The Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE) recently named the The Humane League, Mercy For Animals (MFA), and Animal Equality International as top charities for the year. ACE—a non-profit group that assesses animal-rights and animal-welfare organizations in the United States and Europe—presents the “Top Charity” award groups that have greatest impact on animals and the most effective organizations. Based on seven criterion—room for growth, mission effectiveness, understanding of success and failure, cost-effectiveness, track record of success, leadership, and transparency—the award was given to The Humane League for the fourth consecutive year, as well as the third year for MFA and the second year for Animal Equality International. “All three groups continue to operate in an effective fashion and showed substantial growth over the past year,” ACE said. “We are satisfied that they continue to use increased funds, including those generated from ACE’s recommendation, in strategic and effective ways.” The Humane League is currently tripling all donations in the month of December, and MFA is doubling all donations as part of its Million-Dollar Matching challenge going on now through December 31.
