VegFest Los Angeles is coming to the San Fernando Valley this weekend, serving international vegan food from more than 150 vendors to thousands of visitors. Held as WorldFest since 2000, this year marks the first time the event will be named VegFest—a move Director Billy Hulting expects will greatly increase attendance given the boom in popularity of plant-based eating in recent years. The free-admission event will be held Sunday at Woodley Park in Lake Balboa and will feature live music; speakers on health, environmental, humanitarian, and animal topics; children’s activities; animal adoptions; an eco-marketplace; cooking demonstrations; and a beer and wine garden. Exhibitors include Donut Friend, Follow Your Heart, Farm Sanctuary, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, and VegNews—who will be on hand to give out copies of the magazine and offer subscription deals to attendees.
