International recording artist Beyoncé Knowles is now an investor in vegan watermelon beverage WTRMLN WTR. The songstress—who has publically espoused the benefits of plant-based eating and is co-owner of vegan meal-planning company 22 Days Nutrition—has invested an undisclosed sum of money in the New York-based company, which makes its cold pressed-watermelon “water” from the fruit’s flesh, rind, and organic lemon. “I invested in WTRMLN WTR because it’s the future of clean, natural hydration,” Knowles said. “As partners, we share a simple mission to deliver accessible wellness to the world.” The 100 percent juice beverage boasts significantly less sugar than other juice drinks, 740 milligrams of potassium, and is made from “waste” melons that don’t meet retail standards. The beverage is now available in more than 7,500 stores nationwide, online, and at other locations such as airports and colleges.
