New All-Vegan Pizzeria Opens in Brooklyn Today

A brand new, all-vegan pizza shop opens today in Brooklyn, NY thanks to a partnership between local favorite Champs Diner and famed Philadelphia pizza-purveyors Blackbird Pizza. Screamer’s Pizza replaces Champs’ second mini-bakery outpost, Champs Jr., in Brooklyn’s Greenpoint neighborhood, and will be dishing out $2 slices of vegan pizza all day long. A representative told Brooklyn blog Brokelyn that Champs Diner had been using Blackbird’s seitan in it sandwiches for years and that Screamer’s will fill the void of “a pretty noticeable lack of New York-style pizza, done vegan and done well, here in NYC.” Screamers told VegNews that diners can expect pies including a Sicilian-style tomato pie; classics such as cheese, pepperoni, and sausage; and the “Screamer” featuring garlic oil, cheese, cremini and oyster mushrooms, and homemade almond parmesan.
