Bad Hombres, a Mexican and Latin American restaurant located in Sydney, Australia, has recently converted its entire menu to fully vegan. Co-owner Seán McManus explained that the change is inspired by overwhelming interest in the restaurant’s vegan selections. “Considering our best-selling item is our cauliflower,” McManus stated, “we thought, why not give it a go?” He explained that his restaurant will now be filling a hole in the vegan food scene in Sydney, as plant-based Mexican food is hard to come by in the city. Bad Hombres offers creative, plant-forward dishes such as a Japanese mushroom tostada with soy, sesame, pumpkin, and lime—and offers and all-vegan wine list. Veganism is on the rise in Australia, with new vegan products increasing by 92 percent in recent years, and the world’s biggest vegan retail store opening in Melbourne just last month.
