If you’re wary of making breakfast because of the time commitment, fear not. This warm, delicious day-starter will take you from frigid to full in about five minutes flat, and power you with all the nutrients you need to get your morning off to a great start.

Serves 1

½ cup rolled oats 
¾ cup water 
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons ground flax seeds
¼ cup chopped pears or apples
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon maple syrup
¼ cup vanilla soy milk

What you need:

½ cup rolled oats 
¾ cup water

What you do:

In a saucepan over high heat, bring water to boil and add oatmeal. Lower heat to medium and cook for about 2 minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl and stir in other ingredients. Enjoy immediately.
