Vegan iPhone App

To help vegan drinkers on-the-go, Barnivore streamlines its list of alcohols into an iPhone application.
By Kristen Haney
To make the search for vegan alcohol even easier, Barnivore launched a new iPhone application this week. Barnivore's website contains more than 889 entries on vegan beer, wine, and alcohol. It provides information about brands' level of vegan-friendliness, and the dates when information was checked and double-checked. The application can be found by searching "vegan is easy" in the iTunes store, and downloaded for free. Barnivore sent out a tweet from their account alerting followers about the new application on Monday.

Thanks for mentioning Barnivore! Just to be clear and give credit where credit is due, Barnivore.com didn't make the iPhone app - we provide the data to anyone who wants to use it, and some amazing things are starting to happen! Matthew Feinberg is the author of Vegan Is Easy, and he's got an exciting update in the works. Also, before that came out, Heather Jensen release "Is Your Beer Vegan?", "Is Your Wine Vegan?", and "Is Your Liquor Vegan?", all of which use Barnivore data to provide updates. In hindsight, our tweet was a little misleading, and we apologize for any confusion! The idea was that the main website would be updated with full information on the apps and where they came from but that was delayed a week - this will be corrected over the next few days. In the meantime, I hope everyone who wants to enjoys a nice vegan drink or two - it's getting easier than ever!
