After its limited run ended last year, Target recently announced it would bring back Tabitha Brown’s vegan food line. Between the dilly popcorn and the wide selection of ready meals, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on Brown’s popular vegan food line again.

This week, that wait is finally over as Target begins to integrate Brown’s line back into the mix on its shelves across the country. “I’m so grateful for my continued partnership with Target,” Brown said in a statement sent to VegNews. “Being able to bring joy and delicious food to so many people with a company that treats me like family is such a gift.”

Tabitha Brown’s line returns to Target

The previous Target collaboration was part of a four-collection collaboration with Brown which included home goods, apparel, kitchenware, and more.

The vegan food line, which featured 34 items all under $8, was the third collection Target launched for a limited run in January 2023, when the retailer advertised Brown’s products on shelves together.

However, because the permanent vegan food line will be integrated into Target’s regular offerings, Brown’s products will be found interspersed throughout the store.

“I’m on the shelf just like a normal product,” Brown said in an Instagram video. “You gotta look where the regular food and things are.” 

So what can shoppers find? Initially this week, Target is starting to stock six items. In the prepared and ready-to-make categories, Brown’s Garlic Pasta Salad, Vegan Potato Salad, Polenta & Wild Mushroom Ravioli, and Sweet Pea & Basil Ravioli are making a comeback. The remaining returning items are two flavors of hummus: Lemon Garlic Dill and Jalapeño Lime With Cilantro.

Target digs deeper into wellness

Outside of its permanent partnership with Brown, Target is digging into the broader wellness space with a launch of 1,000 products earlier this year. 

“Wellness has been redefined to encompass a more holistic way of living—and it’s also different for every person,” Rick Gomez, Executive Vice President and Chief Food, Essentials, and Beauty officer at Target, said in a statement.

The new assortment in this collection features a variety of brands and products under the larger wellness umbrella, including vegan gummies and supplements from Kourtney Kardashian’s Lemme brand; non-alcoholic wine from Sechey; and vitamins from Hum (some of which are vegan). 

“That’s why Target is delivering like no other retailer, offering guests the ultimate destination to support their wellness journey, whether that’s enjoying a non-alcoholic beverage from Sechey or stocking up on Bloom to get their daily greens,” Gomez said. “We’re making it fun and easy for our guests to discover new products at a great value, with more than 1,000 new wellness products, starting at just $1.99.”

Shopping for vegan food at Target made easier

In addition to these wellness products, Target added Organic Tofu to its own Good & Gather brand, anchored by plant-based products such as almond milk, a variety of nut milk creamers, and proteins such as Meatless Chicken Tenders.

Target also recently upgraded its digital resources to help customers shop for items that fit their lifestyles and dietary patterns. New to the Target website is a tool that helps sort its products, recipes, and tips into “plant-based” and “vegan” galleries. 

Under the vegan tab, shoppers will now find six categories of vegan food, including “Proteins” like Beyond Beef, Tofurky peppered deli slices, and Plant Boss taco crumbles; “Non-Dairy Alternatives” like Chao cheese slices, Oatly’s oat milk, and Oui vegan yogurt from Yoplait; and “Snacks” like Good Foods Dill Pickle chip dip, Larabar cashew cookie bars, and Partake chocolate chip cookies. 

And soon, these tabs will be updated with more products from Brown’s previous collection at Target.

Earlier this week, Brown teased on social media that her uber-popular popcorn line—in flavors such as Dill Pickle and Roasted Garlic & Parmesan—will likely be making a comeback to Target, along with Peppered Lemon-Flavored Okra. 

“Everything is starting to roll out this month and next month, everything is not going to be there today,” Brown explained. “This is starting to roll out [as a] permanent placement.”
